As a DJ who used to toast (rap) over the reggae records that he played as a youth in Freetown, Emerson N'Jawah was eventually persuaded to “go nah studio“ and make a record of his own. The success of his early attempts led to the artist now known as Bush Doctor being recognized as one of Sierra Leone's most thoughtful, spiritual and talented musical artists. His brand of reggae unquestionably succeeds at being both Jamaican and African simultaneously. PS: That is a good thing.
